Liverpool Reclaim Top Spot As Front Three Shine: Report Ratings & Talking Points as Liverpool Win 3-0 Against Bournemouth
Liverpool are back at top of the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon as thrashed Cherries 3-0 at Anfield.
The Reds took the lead in early stages of the game, as Sadio Mane headed home James Milner’s cross to break the deadlock on 24th minute of the game. Although the Senegalese was arguably offside, referee Anthony Taylor saw no problem and allowed the goal to stand as the linesman failed to identify as Mane was Fractions offside.
Georginio Wijnaldum doubled the Reds lead ten minutes later with a sumptuous finish with a lovely little, delicately lifting the ball over goalkeeper Artur Boruc head. It was only his second goal of the season, with his other headed goal coming in the 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley.
Liverpool put the game to bed as they wrapped up the three points just minutes into the second half as Mohamed Salah finished off a lovely little backheel pass from Firmino to make it 3-0, netting his 20th goal of the season and becoming the first Liverpool player to score 20 goals in back to back seasons since Luis Suarez.
